A great way to fundraise

I just came to be friends with a company who runs a lacquer painting factory in Vietnam, with a primary focus on creating beautiful reproductions of reknowned contemporary artwork.

The finished products look excellent. Apparently I’m not the only one who admires the artwork. My new friend reveals to me that his item has lately been some sort of a unique corporate gift. He has been consigning his products to non-profit organizations who will auction off the art piece at perhaps 3-4 time above the market valuation rate.

My friend keeps what the product is worth, while the organization keeps the other margins. A great win-win-win situation as my friend makes some money, the organization raises some funds, and the buyer is happily engaged with a nice art piece.

The next time you are looking to do fundraising, selling or auctioning some gifts may be the way to go. For example, if you run a non-profit music organization, maybe a limited edition single will sell. Or if you are organizing the Dinner and Dance of an MNC and want to add a charity aspect to it, perhaps selling some MNC branded corporate gift will raise some money.

I will definitely buy a cool IBM accessory to go with my laptop for one.
