Creating demand for your products
This tactic is especially useful for companies who are selling products higher up the supply chain.
A chocolate manufacturer I know sells chocolate blocks that you can easily melt to make into your chocolate desserts. To up demand for their chocolate blocks, they introduced to the market chocolate fondue fountain machines.
A neighbourhood butcher sells premium pork. To create more demand, they give away recipes on how to cook pork. For free.
There are many examples possible. If you sell essential oils, tie up with wellness spas to conduct educational courses on the health benefits of essential oils. If you are a hairdresser, update your customers with the latest hairdos of the most famous pop stars in the world. Think thru your vertical supply chain. Most of these marketing are not going to cost very much.
Rethink your options.
