Instant dip tactic rekindles sales of ordinary calling card
Today’s inspiration came while I was enjoying the lights of Little India, etched for Deepavali celebrations. Walking along the busy streets, I saw this make shift booth doing some roaring business selling prepaid international calling cards. Being intrigued, I took a closer look. There were no special discounts, but the booth was offering a chance to win some home appliances in a sure win instant dip. You get a chance to pick a number with every 3 prepaid calling cards purchased in one transaction.
Now without questioning how rigged the instant dip was (most of the home appliances remained on the gift table when I returned 2 hours later), I thought this chance of hope is a great way to use promotional gifts to sell commodity items. Think about it, imagine you retail salt and you create an instant dip with attractive prizes, and you give people a chance with every 5 packets of salt purchased, I think your sales will soar.
A great example of the power of promotional giving.
