Grow $3000 to $100000 thru street sales

Read an article in the 15th Oct 06 edition of the Sunday Times. The paper wrote of a bunch of students who were given a seed money of $3000, and were asked to come up with the most entrepreneurial idea to raise money for charitable causes. Their idea, buy some small teddy bears and post-it pads, mobilize as many volunteers as possible, and hit the streets. Over 15 weekends, they earned $100000 from teddy bears that were sold at $3 and post-it pads sold at $2. Phenomenal success.

What a great example of the power of promotional gifts! The bottom line is that people are generally egoistical. Altruism does not push everybody into action. But with a good promotional gift, people think “Hey, that is practical”, and have a very strong inclination to purchase. Add on to that the altruistic purpose, you got a sale.

So to all those non-profit organizations out there, start rethinking your fund raising options. Jazztures will love to talk to motivated individuals like this bunch of students to unleash the power of promotional gifts, for a great cause.
