Scratch cards as a promotional gift for better sales
An element of surprise, that’s what scratch cards have. People seemed to have quite forgotten this long time promotional gift that has a nice, fun game element to it. It is still interactive, and is great to drive immediate consumer action. I was driven in this particular case.
Was presented with a scratch card when I bought movie tickets to the show “Ocean’s Thirteen”. Had some fun enthusiastically scratching the silver lining to reveal what promotional gift I have won. Got a voucher that says “Free 16-oz coke with purchase of popcorn”. Now I wasn’t thinking of pop corn before that, but when I saw the promo, I thought hey why not. Redeemed the voucher, got my free promotional gift, and had a great time watching the movie with my beautiful date.
The promotional gift of a drink hidden in a scratch card helped the movie theatre do a sale that they otherwise would not have. It’s strange, perhaps it is a reflection of the old mantra of “I work so I should get paid.” In this case, my mind probably registered that I should get a reward for working at scratching for the promotional gift.
And scratch cards are certainly not expensive. Weave this into your promotional giving arsenal today.
