What a good name does for your promotion
Ok, this is hardly new since the web article was published last year, but hey, I think it very aptly illustrates what a good name can do for your product. Imagine the ubiquitous beancurd, “tofu” as it is known in some countries. They are all white, look similar, taste similar right? How do we get people to buy mine instead of others? Well, I give it a good, catchy name! How about “Handsome Tofu”, or “Johnny the Tofu maker”? I remember those names, and if Tofu A tastes like Tofu B and Tofu C, I will definitely pick “Handsome Tofu” simply because I remember it.
In marketing terms, that is ownership of a particular share of your consumers’ minds. People remember at most 3 brands quickly for every single product. Soft drink? Coke. Sports Shoes? Nike. Fast food? Mcdonalds. Promotional gifts and corporate gifts? Jazztures. (Haha, we are working on it.)
Pick a good, catchy name to market your mundane product to stand out from the clutter!
